Update

I apologize that there have not been recent posts. My 1-year-old son was hospitalized last week for 5 days, and I have gotten behind a bit. This week, we are taking practice CRCT tests in both 6th and 7th grade. This is not part of your child's grade, but is a tool for us to measure where we are and how far we have to go. Students had homework assignments last night and will have them every night this week. 6th grade homework for Monday was pages 42-47 in the CRCT practice book, and 7th grade homework was to do pages 44-47 in the CRCT practice book.

We will review this practice test tomorrow (Thursday), present the answers to students, and discuss the whole class results (without revealing individual performance). I will then discuss the plan for the remainder of the year with the students, and communitcate that plan to parents with the creation of a syllabus for the remainder of the year.

Students will soon have access to the Georgia Online Assessment System where they can take practice tests online and get immediate feedback. To get a preview of this site, go to https://www.georgiaoas.org/servlet/a2l. As soon as students have passwords, I will send them home so that students can get additional practice with multiple choice items. Additionally, I will be able to review and comment on the online tests.

Thank you,
Mrs. Svenson
